Morris Marina

Automobiles

The Marina is the small family car that the Austin Morris division of British Leyland manufactured from 1971 until 1980, to replace both the Morris Minor and the Morris Oxford. It has a front engine, rear wheel drive layout, designed by Roy Haynes, who also designed the Ford Cortina Mark II, and it was produced as a saloon, estate, coupe, pickup and van. It was launched on 27 April 1971, was among Britain's best sellers, peaking at second place in 1973, and total Marina and Ital production topped 1.2 million. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the Mark 1 (1971 to 1975); the Mark 2 (1975 to 1980).
