The 2013 Honda Accord opened the ninth generation, which Honda released on 5 September 2012; the sedan arrived at U.S. dealers on 19 September 2012 and the coupe after it on 15 October 2012. Production of the Accord Plug in Hybrid began on 21 December 2012, with sales in the U.S. starting in January 2013. In 2013 the generation also reached Indonesia on 25 April, Australia in June, and China in September as a 2014 model, and the Accord hybrid and plug in hybrid were introduced to the Japanese market in June 2013. It was named 2013 Canadian Car of the Year.
