The 2002 model year was the final year of the sixth generation Honda Accord, which Honda chose to continue one year longer than the usual four, changing the cycle so that a generation would run five years with the facelift in the fourth. The Special Edition was reintroduced for 2002 on both the coupe and sedan for its final model year, with the features of the LX plus exclusive alloy wheels, keyless entry and a single CD and cassette radio. In Japan the 2002 Euro R model was named the Euro Rx, with factory rear privacy glass, a titanium gear knob and bronze alloy wheels.
