The Vigor stopped using the Accord chassis with the launch of the fourth generation Accord in 1989 and moved to a stretched derivative, and it set itself further apart from the Accord with unique styling and a longitudinal five cylinder engine as an option. Japan's CB5 Vigor, shorter and narrower, could have the 2 liter G20A engine from 1989 to 1992. The Honda Inspire was introduced as a twin to the Vigor, available at Honda Clio dealerships.
