1986 Honda Accord

Automobiles

The 1986 Honda Accord opened the third generation, which reached Japan on 4 June 1985 and Europe and North America later in the year. Its striking exterior was styled by Toshi Oshika in 1983 and featured hidden headlamps, and it won the Car of the Year Japan Award at its introduction. It was the first Honda fitted with double wishbone suspension on both the front and rear axles. Engine blocks of the 1986 model year were marked BS and BT in the United States and the cars had chassis code BA. Honda held back options on North American Accords to avoid cannibalising sales from the recently introduced 1986 Acura line.
