The Special Edition came back for 1985 as the SE-i, making the most of the final production year of the second generation. Only this model received the fuel injected 101 bhp ES3 engine, which was the first Accord engine without CVCC. The SE-i had Novillo leather seating, a power moonroof, bronze tinted glass, a premium sound system and 13 inch alloy wheels, in Graphite Gray Metallic or Barley Brown Metallic. The PGM-FI fuel injection that Japan had received in 1984 was not offered in the United States market until 1985. The third generation was introduced in Japan on 4 June 1985.
