The 2016 model year is the first of the tenth-generation Civic, first released in November 2015 in North America as a sedan, with the coupe following in early 2016 and the hatchback in 2017. Honda of Canada Manufacturing started building the sedan on 20 October 2015. China saw the launch of the sedan on 14 April 2016, offered with a turbocharged 1.0 litre or 1.5 litre engine, and the car was also shown at the Indonesia International Motor Show on April 7, 2016. The tenth generation unified the Civic range, ending the separate European version.
