The 2008 Honda Accord was the first model year of the eighth generation in most markets. North America got a body distinct from the Japanese one, larger than its predecessor and classed as full size by EPA measures, with a 2.4 liter four cylinder making 177 bhp and a 3.5 liter V6 making 272 bhp. The updated Japanese and European Accord launched in mid 2008, with a 2.2 i-DTEC diesel in Europe, and North America also sold it as the Acura TSX.
