The Silver Shadow was the first Rolls-Royce with a slabsided unitary body and chassis and independent suspension all round, designed by John Polwhele Blatchley as a smaller successor to the Silver Cloud. It was built from 1965 to 1976, and as the Silver Shadow II from 1977 to 1980, 30,057 cars in all, the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce model. Its two door versions became the Corniche in 1971, and the Bentley T-series was its twin. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the Silver Shadow (1965 to 1976); the Silver Shadow II (1977 to 1980).
