The Silver Dawn was the first Rolls-Royce offered with a factory built body, shared along with its chassis with the Bentley Mark VI and then the Bentley R Type, until production ended in 1955. It was first an export only model, and only became available in the British home market from October 1953. Just 760 were produced, with the body made by the Pressed Steel Company for a general purpose body on the post war rolling chassis. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1949 to 1955).
