Honda announced the mid-cycle facelift in 1998 for the 1999 model year. In the United Kingdom, 200 examples of the three-door EK4 VTi-S limited edition were produced in 1998 only, all on R registration plates, with Starlight Black paint and a single VTi-S badge.
