The Rover 800 stayed on the old XX platform rather than moving to the new platform of the second generation Honda Legend that arrived in October 1990. The 1991 Legend benefited from much of the research and testing done for the Honda NSX, with the engine mounted longitudinally behind the front axle in what Honda called a front wheel drive midship layout. The sources used for this page record no change specific to the 1991 model year, so this page claims none.
