The 2004 model year carried the generation's facelift, made in late 2003, with new headlights, bumper and grille, side skirts and body-colored bonnet and boot trim. On the interior a small center console replaced the driver's armrest and the rear seats got adjustable headrests. Canada replaced the DX trim with a Special Edition and swapped the Sport model for an LX-G trim. The Si hatchback moved to 16-inch wheels and dual separate high and low beam headlights. In the United States during 2004 the Civic ranked as the seventh best selling vehicle of any type and the third best selling passenger car.
