The 1998 Honda Passport was the first model year of the second generation, still a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo built in Lafayette, Indiana. Two trim levels were offered, LX and the upscale EX. On the EX the spare tire sat under the cargo floor, whereas the LX carried it on a swing-out carrier at the rear. In 2010 a recall was issued for the affected 1998 to 2002 Rodeo and Passport for frames with severe rust issues, covering 149,992 vehicles.
