Honda announced on April 8, 2015 that it would stop making the Crosstour after the 2015 model year because of slow sales, with the last one built on August 31, 2015. Another factor was to free up space on the production line for the CR-V, Acura RDX and Acura MDX in 2017. In China the Avancier, introduced in 2016, became its spiritual successor, and in North America the Passport came back for 2019 to compete in the mid size two row segment that had been left empty.
