MTR CRRC Qingdao Sifang EMU

The MTR CRRC Qingdao Sifang EMU, also called the MTR Urban Lines Vision Train and known as the Q-Train, is a fleet of electric multiple unit trains that MTR in Hong Kong ordered in July 2015 to replace its oldest rolling stock, the Metro-Cammell trains in service since 1979. The order grew from 78 eight-car trains to 93 trainsets, 744 cars, at HK$6.05 billion, and the trains are meant for the Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan, Island and Tseung Kwan O lines. Delivery was held up when the move to the Advanced SelTrac signalling system was delayed after a test run crash near Central station in 2019, so some sets were fitted with the older SACEM system. The first Q-Train carried passengers on the Kwun Tong Line on 27 November 2022, the Island Line followed on 28 January 2024 and the Tsuen Wan Line on 29 March 2026. Features include wider doors, rubber gangways, double-branched handrails and doors and couplers made by Faiveley.
