The MRTC 3100 class, also called the CRRC Dalian 8MLB LRV, is a class of second-generation uni-directional light rail vehicles built by CRRC Dalian and owned by the Philippine government, which the Department of Transportation operates on Line 3 of the Manila Metro Rail Transit System. The 48 vehicles were bought under a 3.8 billion peso contract awarded to CNR Dalian in January 2014 after the other bidder was disqualified, and they were delivered between 2016 and 2017. They first ran in revenue service on 7 May 2016, but a dispute over their weight and compatibility with the existing system left them idle, and legal issues with the maintenance provider kept them in limited and repeatedly interrupted use between 2018 and 2022 before they returned to regular operation in 2025. The article records the controversy, a resolution section and incidents involving the trains.
