Consolidated Aircraft

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

Consolidated Aircraft Corporation was an American aircraft maker founded in 1923 by Reuben H. Fleet in Buffalo, New York, built on the designs and assets of earlier firms. Consolidated became famous in the 1920s and 1930s for its flying boats, and the most successful of its patrol boats was the PBY Catalina, which was built throughout the Second World War and used by many air forces. The company also produced the B-24 Liberator heavy bomber and later merged with Vultee to form Convair.
