The De Havilland DHC-515 Firefighter is an amphibious aerial firefighting aircraft that De Havilland Canada launched as a production program on 31 March 2022, under its earlier name of CL-515. It builds on the Canadair CL-215 and CL-415, the program the company acquired in 2016, with important upgrades that the maker says increase the functionality and effectiveness of the rugged firefighting design. European customers signed letters of intent for the first 22 aircraft, and final assembly takes place in Calgary, Alberta, where work on the older Canadair aircraft already happens, with parts of the fuselage and wings made near Victoria, British Columbia. It is kept here as its own model because De Havilland Canada builds and sells it under its own designation, separate from the Canadair CL-415 it succeeds.
