Tata Motors

Tata Motors is an Indian vehicle maker of the Tata group, founded in 1945 to make locomotives and then lorries and buses. It later built passenger cars such as the Indica and, in 2008, the Nano, which was marketed as the cheapest car in the world. Tata bought Jaguar and Land Rover in 2008 and Daewoo's truck business, and it makes the Ace and 407 light commercial vehicles. The company builds trucks, buses and vans for the Indian market and for export, and it is part of the Tata group of companies, one of the largest industrial groups in India.
