Shanghai International Port Group

Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd., commonly abbreviated SIPG, is the company that operates every public terminal in the Port of Shanghai, one of the world's busiest container ports. It was established in 2003 as a state-owned enterprise, with the Shanghai municipal government holding a majority stake of just over 61 percent, and it is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange under ticker 600018 as a component of the CSI 300 and CSI 100 indices. SIPG manages container handling, bulk cargo and general cargo operations across the port's terminals, coordinating the movement of millions of shipping containers each year between Shanghai and ports worldwide. Its scale and state ownership make it a central instrument of Chinese port policy and one of the largest single port operating companies anywhere.
