The ONCF, the Office National des Chemins de Fer, is Morocco's national railway operator, headquartered in Rabat. It was created in 1963 through the merger of several earlier private railway companies operating in Morocco, including CFM, CMO, TF and MN, bringing the country's rail network under a single state-owned enterprise overseen by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics. ONCF is responsible for passenger and freight transport on Morocco's national rail network, and also for building, operating and maintaining the country's railway infrastructure. As of 2025 the organization employed 6,696 people and operated a network of 2,295 kilometers of lines and 3,848 kilometers of track, built to standard gauge, with about 64 percent of the network electrified. ONCF has also developed Africa's first high-speed rail line, connecting Tangier and Casablanca. Mohamed Rabie Khlie has served as Director General since 2005, overseeing the network's modernization and expansion.
