The Companhia Paulista de Trens Metropolitanos, known as CPTM, is one of the rapid transit companies serving the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and forms part of the largest metropolitan rail transport network in Latin America. It was established on May 28, 1992, formed from several railroads that already existed in Greater Sao Paulo, consolidating existing rail infrastructure into a single entity serving the metropolitan region.
