Bristol Aeroplane Company

Vehicle and Equipment Manufacturers

The Bristol Aeroplane Company was a British aircraft and engine maker founded in 1910 by Sir George White, which grew from the British and Colonial Aeroplane Company. It built the Bristol Fighter of the First World War, the Blenheim and Beaufighter of the Second, and the Britannia turboprop airliner. The company also made radial engines, and the experimental Type 188 supersonic research aircraft. It merged into the British Aircraft Corporation and Hawker Siddeley in the 1960s.
