Suzuki GS450

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The Suzuki GS450 was a Suzuki motorcycle produced in the early 1980s. It was a two valve design of the four valve GSX400 and so shared the pressurised oil and shell bearing GSX block with its successor, the GS500 twin. Variants included the GS450E, GS450L, GS450S, GS450T and the GS450GA Suzukimatic, and the series competed directly with the Honda CM400 and CM450. The Suzukimatic ran for only two years, 1982 and 1983, matching the change of the Hondamatic to the CM450A, and both ceased after the 1983 model year. The 1980 GS450 is a 448 cc street bike considered a standard, small enough to be modified to a rider taste. It is 2.08 metres long with a 79 cm seat height, weighs 175 kg without fluids and can reach 160 km/h. Its Eurostyle design puts the rider in a racer position when cornering.
