BMW R 1200 GS Adventure K51

The BMW R 1200 GS Adventure with factory code K51 is a long-distance travel enduro presented in an official press release on 7 October 2013 and shown to the public shortly afterwards at the EICMA show in Milan. It is based on the R 1200 GS K50 introduced a year earlier and, like all R-series models, is driven by a boxer twin and given its final assembly in the BMW plant in Berlin Spandau. Compared with the standard GS it carries a 30 litre aluminium fuel tank instead of 20 litres, around 600 kilometres of range, 2 centimetres more suspension travel, wire spoked wheels, a larger windscreen and standard engine guard and hand protectors.
