Honda released the XR650L in 1992 as a 1993 model. It combines the RFVC engine from the proven NX650 Dominator dual sport with the lighter, off-road capable XR600R chassis, the latter of which is not road legal in the US. The 1993 model has a 40 hp, air-cooled 644 cc SOHC single, an electric starter, a headlight, taillight, turn signals and mirrors, and weighs 349 pounds wet, with a seat height of 37 inches. It has been produced almost unchanged since 1993.
