The 1997 to 2003 span was the American Classic Edition era. A fresh Honda engine went into the Shadow ACE (VT750C) in 1997, a bigger version of the 52 degree 600 cc V-twin of the Shadow VLX, with a wide ratio five speed gearbox and chain final drive in place of shaft, and the 1100 line gained the Spirit, ACE Tourer, Aero and Sabre, among other models. Honda's best selling street model in 2002 was the 750cc Shadow ACE. Each model year has its own page.
