Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The MC18 generation covered the 1988 and 1989 model years, with the NSR250R and the SP versions, including the 1988 Rothmans edition. The 1988 bikes used the PGM-I ignition system and the 1989 bikes the PGM-II. The engine was a 249 cc 90 degree V-twin liquid-cooled two-stroke with twin naturally aspirated carburetors, a bore and stroke of 54 mm by 54.5 mm, and a six-speed constant mesh cassette-type gearbox, with the R6k SP version using a dry multi-plate clutch.
