1984 Honda Gold Wing

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The GL1200 was the new 1984 Gold Wing announced at the Milan motorcycle show in late 1983, with a bored and stroked boxer engine making more power and torque, hydraulic clutch actuation and valve tappets, a new stronger frame and smaller front and rear wheels with wider tires. The claimed dry weight of the naked bike remained 599 pounds. The GL1200 Standard appeared only in 1984, and Europe did not receive it because buyers had turned to the Interstate and Aspencade models. The GL1200A Aspencade added a Panasonic audio system with an intercom.
