Honda revised the AF18E engine in 1992, with a larger crankshaft interface of 14 mm in place of the earlier 12 mm design, which improved durability at the variator interface, and every AF18E engine after that adopted it. A performance variant of the Super Dio, the Dio ZX (AF28), arrived in 1992, with a revised cylinder whose port timing was 1 mm higher and an output of about 7 PS. The Canadian Dio, based on the AF27, went on sale in 1992.
