On 5 September 2008 Honda brought out a revised CBR600RR as a 2009 model. Combined ABS was an option on the CBR600RA, with updates to pistons, cylinder head and exhaust that Honda says raise torque between 8,000 and 12,000 rpm, a new valve lifter with high resistance and a popup valve system from the CBR1000RR. The overall weight remained the same as the 2008 model. It won Best Sportsbike under 600cc from Motor Cycle News for the C-ABS model.
