The Honda CB77 Super Hawk entered production in 1961 as Honda's first sport bike. It drew on Honda's experience in Grand Prix racing and was very different from earlier models, with a frame of steel tubing in place of the pressed frames of earlier Hondas and a telescopic front fork. The 305 cc parallel twin was the biggest engine then available in a Honda and was capable of 9,000 rpm, propelling the bike at over 100 mph.
