Caproni Ca.142

Military Aircraft

The Caproni Ca.142 was a three-engined multirole aircraft built by Caproni in the mid-1930s. It was a high-wing trimotor monoplane that differed from the Caproni Ca.133 in having a new landing gear with retractable front elements in place of the fixed one of its predecessor. Flight results did not achieve the desired results, and in September 1937 the aircraft was handed over to the Regia Aeronautica, which gave it the registration MM 327. It had a crew of four and three Piaggio Stella P.VII C.16 seven-cylinder radial engines of 338 kW each, reached a maximum speed of 286 km/h, and was armed with four 7.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns and two 500 kg bombs.
