The Dornier Do 23 was a German medium bomber of the 1930s, the more extensive rework of the troubled Do 11 that followed the failed Do 13. Additional landing flaps at the rear of the wings corrected several handling problems, but crew and military equipment matched the Do 11 and performance was still thought mediocre. 282 were built for the Luftwaffe between 1934 and 1935, the production version being the Do 23G, with Henschel and Blohm and Voss each building 24. In 1936 the first Do 17s replaced them and they moved to training, and some later served as minesweepers.
