Airbus Helicopters H160

Lighter-Than-Air Craft and Rotorcraft

The Airbus Helicopters H160, first revealed as the X4, is a medium utility helicopter developed by Airbus Helicopters and intended to replace the AS365 and EC155 in the maker range. It was formally launched at Heli-Expo in Orlando on 3 March 2015, the first prototype flew on 13 June 2015 and the first serial helicopter made its maiden flight on 14 December 2018. It is powered by two Safran Arrano turboshaft engines, received EASA type certification in July 2020 and made its first deliveries in December 2021. The design emphasised using production and support techniques as used for fixed-wing aircraft such as the Airbus A350 airliner, and a pair of test rigs were built to speed up the work.
