The Airbus Helicopters H145, formerly the Eurocopter EC145, is a twin-engine light utility helicopter developed and manufactured by Airbus Helicopters on the basis of the MBB and Kawasaki BK 117 C1. It carries up to nine passengers with two crew and is marketed for passenger and corporate transport, emergency medical services, search and rescue and utility roles. The first EC145 made its maiden flight at Donauwörth, Germany, on 12 June 1999. The EC145 T2, with Arriel 2E turboshaft engines and a Fenestron shrouded tail rotor, was renamed H145 in 2015. Military versions such as the H145M and the UH-72 serve in training, logistics, medical evacuation and light attack roles, and the United States National Guard operates nearly 500.
