Mitsubishi 6G7 engine

Automotive Engines

The 6G7 series, also called the Cyclone V6, is a family of V6 piston engines from Mitsubishi Motors. Five displacement variants were built between 1986 and 2021, in single and double overhead camshaft forms, naturally aspirated and turbocharged, and the 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 litre versions were also offered with gasoline direct injection. Some versions used MIVEC variable valve timing. It served as the flagship engine of the company, apart from a brief V8 in 1999 to 2001, and powered high-end sedans, the Pajero off-roader and the twin-turbo Mitsubishi GTO, which became the most powerful car the company had built at that time. Hyundai also manufactured the engine in South Korea under the name Hyundai Sigma, and Chrysler used it in several of its cars.
