Mitsubishi Fuso Rosa (third generation)

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The third-generation Mitsubishi Fuso Rosa, the BE4 series, was introduced in June 1986 as a full model change over the BE3 Pretty Rosa. It took a more modern cab-forward profile with a panoramic windshield, a lower beltline and rectangular twin headlamps on upper trims, standardised across all models after a minor change in January 1990. It came in short and long bodies of 6,200 and 6,950 millimetres seating 26 to 29, with a front-engine rear-drive layout and a five-speed manual as standard. All BE4 models used Mitsubishi 4D3-series inline-four diesels. The Royal tourist trim of September 1987 added reclining seats, curtains, overhead racks and ducted roof air conditioning, the corporate FUSO emblem appeared on the grille in May 1988, and the 1990 change added an automatic transmission, four-wheel drive on the long body and independent front suspension. BE4 production ended in 1997, replaced by the BE6.
