The Orion VII was a line of low-floor transit buses made by Orion Bus Industries, a subsidiary of Daimler Buses North America, between 2001 and 2013 in three generations. It came in 30, 35 and 40 foot rigid lengths and replaced the fully low-floor Orion VI and the high-floor Orion V. The conventional buses had longitudinally mounted diesel or natural gas engines driving the rear axle through a T-drive transmission, and a series hybrid with a diesel-driven generator was also offered. The body is a monocoque stainless steel frame clad in aluminum and fiberglass. Production ended when DaimlerChrysler, its parent company, withdrew from the transit bus market in 2013.
