Guy Wulfrunian

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Guy Wulfrunian was a British front-engined double-decker bus chassis made by Guy Motors from 1959 until its discontinuation in 1965. Introduced at the 1958 Commercial Motor Show as a concept for one-person operation without a conductor, it took its name from Wolverhampton and Mercian noblewoman Wulfrun. Unlike the rear-engined Leyland Atlantean and Daimler Fleetline it paired a front engine, a Gardner 6LX of 10.45 litres, with a front entrance, Girling disc brakes and independent front suspension. Of 137 built, 126 went to the West Riding Automobile Company between 1960 and 1965, most with Charles H. Roe bodywork.
