Leyland Super Viking

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Leyland Super Viking was a bus chassis made by Leyland from 1980 to 1984. When Albion's Scotstoun plant closed in October 1980, production of the Albion Viking VK moved to Leyland and the chassis was relaunched under the Leyland name. A number of Sydney operators bought it in the 1980s, among them Bowman's Bus Lines, Busways, Hadfield's and Westway, and Tewantin Bus Service of Queensland took ten. The last Super Viking did not enter service until 1995: the chassis was bought by Bass Hill Bus Service of Sydney and bodied by Pressed Metal Corporation in 1984, but never used until the business was sold to Baxter's Bus Lines.
