Leyland Lynx

Buses and Road Mass Transit Vehicles

The Leyland Lynx was a step-entrance integral single-deck bus built by Leyland Bus in Workington, England, between 1986 and 1992. Leyland revealed the chassis, marketed internally as the B60, in 1984 as a replacement for the ageing Leyland National, and the two were assembled side by side at Workington until the National ended in 1985. It was first sold for export while the home market recovered from bus deregulation. The Lynx body was launched in 1985 at the International Bus and Coach Exhibition as a complete 11.18 metre city bus, a largely squared design with bonded window glazing, no curved glass and two separate windscreens, on a welded steel underframe with a low front floor.
