Ford Power Stroke engine

Automotive Engines

Power Stroke is the name of a family of diesel engines used in Ford trucks and vans. From 1994 until 2010 the engines Ford sold under the name were re-branded Navistar International medium duty truck engines, starting with the 7.3 litre V8, the Ford version of the Navistar T444E turbo diesel. Since the 2011 introduction of the 6.7 litre V8, Ford has designed and built its own Power Stroke diesels. Besides the F-Series and Super Duty pickups, applications include the E-Series, the Excursion, the Ford LCF commercial truck and the South American Ranger, and larger five cylinder Duratorq units carry the name in North America. The range has been marketed against large gasoline V8 and V10 engines, the Duramax V8 from General Motors and the Dodge Cummins inline six.
