The 4/50 was the four cylinder car of the first postwar Wolseley pair, put into production in 1948 on the Morris Oxford MO. Its engine was a four cylinder version of the 6/80 engine of 1476 cubic centimeters and 50 horsepower. It was heavier than the Oxford and regarded as needing good use of its excellent gearbox to keep a respectable pace, and it was more upmarket and expensive than the Morris. Sales were only a third those of the six. Its model years run from 1948 to 1953.
