The Wolseley 4/44 was replaced in 1956 by the similar Wolseley 15/50, after being manufactured from 1953. It was a monocoque saloon with independent suspension at the front by coil springs and a live rear axle, with a four speed manual transmission with a column change. It had shared much of its design with the MG Magnette ZA, which was a sportier car with twin carburettors. Its successor, the 15/50, was a similar car.
