The Wolseley 4/44 was brought out by the British Motor Corporation in 1952, having been designed under the Nuffield Organization, but by the time it was released Wolseley was part of BMC. Much of the design was shared with the MG Magnette ZA, which was released later in the same year. The Wolseley used a detuned version of the XPAG engine of the MG T type, with a single carburettor, giving 46 horsepower.
