The Nissan Sunny California (B310) is the first generation of the Sunny station wagon, sold in Japan from January 1979 to October 1981. Japanese Wikipedia says it debuted on 23 January 1979, a year and two months after the B310 Sunny itself, as the first station wagon of the Sunny series, although at launch it was described as a five-door sports sedan rather than a wagon. It used the same engines as the Sunny sedan and coupe, at first only the A14 in single-carburettor form, which met the 1978 emission and 1979 noise rules; the infobox lists a front engine with rear-wheel drive. The bumpers were larger than on other Sunny models, with shock-absorbing bumpers and wood-grain side panels as options, and the grades were Deluxe, GL, SGL, GX and SGX-E. A facelift in October 1979 slanted the nose and moved the rear number plate onto the bumper, the 1500 cc A15 engine replaced the A14 in November 1980, and the B11 took over in October 1981.
