Mercury Country Cruiser

Automobiles

The Mercury Country Cruiser was the name of Mercury's station wagons in the 1959 and 1960 model years. Mercury is a marque of the Ford Motor Company. The wagons had been grouped simply as Station Wagon in 1958 and took the Country Cruiser name for 1959, when there were three versions: the Commuter, built on the Monterey and sold with three or five doors, the Voyager, and the top Colony Park, both derived from the Montclair sedan and sold as five-door wagons, the Colony Park adding imitation wood trim. The 1959 engines were V8s of 6,161 cubic centimetres. For 1960 the range shrank to the four-door Commuter and the Colony Park. Mercury built 24,628 of these wagons in 1959 and 22,360 in 1960, and the wagons went back to the plain Station Wagon name in 1961.
