The Honda WOW, short for Wonderful Open-hearted Wagon, was a concept car from Honda's automobile division, first shown at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. Its unusual brief was to suit both a person and their dogs. Honda gave it a low centre of gravity for a steadier ride, wood-panelled floors that were meant to feel more comfortable for dogs, a ventilation system and a walk-through centre that let dogs move around the cabin, and an instrument panel with a lid that opened onto a crate for a small dog. The styling cues were carried into the Honda Freed, which reached the market in 2008, so the concept is remembered as the starting point of that model.
